Santron PC based Uroflowmeter

System Introduction:

The Santron PC Based Uroflowmeter is a cost effective, reliable & user-friendly system. Santron PC based Uroflowmeter has a unique remote mounted Sensor due which the patient is able to void in privacy, thus avoiding the psychosomatic side effects which might influence the measurement results. The urine flow rate together with the volume is recorded and processed to give a list of Uroflowmetry parameters and the plot of urine flow rate & volume with respect to time, on the doctor’s table itself.

Uroflow Sensor

The Sensor is designed to be sturdy and give the best measurement results along with high sensitivity, eliminating measurements disturbances. The Sensor can be remote mounted at a distance of 15 meters from the computer and does not require Cleaning and disinfecting since it is not in contact with the Urine . Duration of measurement (sampling period): 180 secs.

Mode of measurement

Auto Mode : The PC based Uroflowmeter incorporate an automatic recording ( sampling )start facility, which becomes operative when the patients starts voiding in the measuring jar. After the measurement period is over the system processes the data and immediately display the characteristics volume & flow rate curve and the Uroflow parameters on the screen.

Hesitancy Mode : This is also called as Manual Mode, where the test recording is started by pressing a key the New test command is given. This test helps to measure the Delay or Hesitancy time of the patient before start of actual flow.

Uroflowmetry Parameters

Delay time (sec) : It is the time from request to urinate until the actual micturition , or from the existence of a considerable urge to urinate until the beginning of voiding. Max Flow rate (ml/sec): Maximum value of free flow rate during the sampling period. It is also called as Peak flow rate. Computed Max Flow rate (ml/sec): It is the average of, the 3 values of flow rate, around the actual Max flow rate. Time to Max Flow rate (seconds) : It is the time at which Max Flow rate occurs. Voided volume (ml): The total volume collected in the measuring jar during the voiding /recording period. Note the total voided volume should not exceed 1 litre. It is measured in ml.

Voiding time (seconds): Time taken by the person to void. It also includes post micturition dripples only if the flow rate is greater than 1ml/sec. It is measured in seconds. Average flow rate (ml/sec) : It is total voided volume divided by the voiding time. Flow time (second) : The time taken by the patient between the start of voiding and the first time the voiding flow rate reaches zero is called the flow time . It is measured in seconds. Interval Time (second): It is the total time during the entire voiding time, The Patient have paused voiding.

Computed Average Flow Rate: It is the average flow rate, re-calculated taking into consideration the interval Time.
